July 2017 Newsletter

By Matthew Solomon, 07/01/17, 12:00PM EDT

Ice Sports Forum fans…  We have only hit the mid-way point of the year and already so much excitement.  Don’t expect July to slow down any!

We will start with repeating the announcement of our continued partnership with the Tampa Bay Lightning.  We are currently in our 20th year as the official training facility of the Lighting. Mr. Vinik and Mr. Griggs have granted us another 10 years and we couldn’t be more excited. In addition to our extended partnership, an 18,000 sq. ft. addition will break ground in September.  Check out the full details in a video released on the Bolts home page here.

From big hockey players to little ones, our summer Mite rec league begins July 7th. Registrations are due by July 1st to our youth hockey coordinator, Aimee Clay.  For the first time ever, registration can also be completed on the Ice Sports Forum website. Follow this link to the registration page.

If you want your little one to get some extra practice in before the season, we have a 2-day Mite clinic beginning July 5th.  Registration is $75 for the two days which includes two hours of on ice instruction each day. Click here for a registration form.

For more hockey camps look no farther as we have our Ice Sports Forum hockey camp from July 24-28.  Coach Justin Koepke will provide multiple on and off ice training sessions throughout the week including chalk talk sessions. Campers will receive free laser tag, catered lunch, and sweet swag bags! Registration forms can be found on our website or by clicking here.

If you’re not quite ready for hockey or are looking to check out the other side of the skating world, our third session of Learn to Skate camp takes place from July 11-13 and our fourth and final summer session is from July 25-27.  There is no better way to beat the heat while being active and learning an exciting and rewarding new sport. Campers get exercise sessions, laser tag, lunch and a movie, and instruction from our fantastic instructors. Registration forms can be found here.

As a testament to our skating instructors as well as the hard work and dedication of our skaters themselves, Skating Director/Coach Tommy Brannen and team are traveling to Anaheim, California for the ISI World Recreational Championships from July 17-22.  A special shout out and good luck to all of our skaters… Anna Barile, Emily Bernstein, Kim Bernstein, Paige Clauws, Emma Coffin, Noah Coffin, BrinnRae Cox, Gavin Cox, Taylor Crone, Lilli Fisher, Ruby Fisher, Megan Lukavec, Shawn Lukavec, Alexandra McCoin, Rylie Messenger, Courtney O’connor, Marcie Schultz, Megan Schultz, Elise Sweeney, and Richard Sweeney III.
