Ice Sports Forum fans… we finally have had some cooler weather to make it feel like Fall. Our palm trees attempted to give you the yellows and browns the north is accustomed to, but that was more of a needing rain thing. A for effort though.

November is an exciting month. Fall sports are in full swing, the weather is more bearable, the Bolts are rocking it, and you get a holiday with the best feast of the year! We also have plenty of good stuff going on at ISF to keep you busy!

Getting right to it, we have a special Thanksgiving week of awesome that includes extra public skates from Noon to 1:30pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, extra laser tag as well on those days, and Parent/Player Skate and Shoots! On November 20 and 25 the Skate and Shoots will be from 11:15am-1:15pm and on November 26 from 8:15am-10:15am. The cost will be $10/skater.

For extra practice time there will be an A Plus hockey camp running from 8:00am-12:00pm November 20-22 with registration details on our website.  We also have our own Coach Kristen providing a skating and skills class on November 24 from 9:30am-11:30am for ages 6 and up. Contact Coach Kristen Folch at Kpappolla@gmail.com for more details or to register.

Speaking of practice, rehearsals for our Christmas Ice Show will be the last week in November. The show is set for Sunday December 3.  Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.

With the holidays coming up and all the great fall/winter sports, we know it can be very distracting to the most important thing in our skater’s lives, school. We are beginning a program, that we hope to expand, offering free skating and/or laser tag rewards cards for different accomplishments like perfect attendance, good grades, or however else the schools see fit. Currently four schools are participating in our pilot program, but we are looking to expand our reach. If you are a Principal, Administrator, or PTA President and are interested in getting your school involved in our Ice Sports Forum incentives program, we are happy to discuss a partnership. Please contact us for more details.

We have concluded the submission portion of our Ice Sports Forum photo contest and have narrowed the choices down to three photos from the submissions received. We have created a post on Facebook to select the winner. Please vote for the picture you think captures the spirit of ISF best and the winner will receive two tickets to an upcoming Lightning game.

And finally, the groundbreaking for our big addition to the Lightning practice facility is happening very soon. If there are any changes in traffic patterns or parking areas, we will be sure to alert you. It’s a process of growing pains and we thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience with us!
